The KNF (PFSA) Office has set up a working group on the physical security of the banking sector and ATM equipment

Given the scale of the phenomenon and the danger it involves, a working group on physical security of the banking sector and ATM equipment was established in the KNF (PFSA) Office. The Group’s task is to constantly monitor phenomena and events that negatively affect the broadly understood security of the banking sector and ATM equipment, as well as to develop effective methods of cooperation between institutions ensuring such security. The group is also to analyse current and projected legal solutions in this area and to develop new legislative guidelines.

Participation in the group was confirmed by the representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the National Bank of Poland, the Ministry of Finance, the Police Headquarters, the Polish Bank Association and the security units of commercial banking entities. The first meeting of the group took place on July 15.

It will soon be clear what the group will propose and whether its activities will reduce the scale of the socially harmful phenomenon it was designed to combat.
