Do you operate in the EU? 2026 will bring new regulations on cybersecurity, ecology, and exports
The biggest wave of EU regulations in years is coming. If your company operates in the technology, energy, chemical, or export sectors, 2026 will be a year of change that you need to prepare for.
The new regulations mean greater responsibility, but also an opportunity to streamline EU compliance strategies.

Cyber Resilience Act- CE certification for cybersecurity
Every product containing digital components, from IoT devices to software in machines, will have to comply with the new requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act.
This includes, among other things:
- mandatory CE marking with regard to cybersecurity,
- risk and vulnerability management throughout the product lifecycle,
- compliance documentation available upon request by supervisory authorities.
The new rules aim to strengthen the security of digital products and protect end users.
Ecodesign Regulation- durability, repairability, and an end to the destruction of unsold clothing
The Ecodesign Regulation will introduce new standards for:
- resource efficiency,
- durability and ease of repair,
- prohibition of destruction of unsold clothing and footwear.
Companies offering consumer products will have to consider the entire product life cycle- from design, through sales, to disposal.

Changes to the CLP Regulation- new hazard classes and labeling
The update to the CLP (Classification, Labeling, and Packaging) regulation will introduce new hazard classes, such as:
- endocrine disruptors,
- persistent and toxic pollutants (PBT/vPvB).
For companies in the chemical sector, this means that they must re-label their products and update their safety data sheets.
Export: dual-use items checklist
The EU’s Dual-Use Control list will be expanded to include previously uncontrolled technologies, including:
- quantum computers,
- advanced software,
- specialized components and know-how.
