The implementation of the goAML system – start of consultations
On 9 October 2024, the General Inspector of Financial Information (GIIF) published a communication about the first round of consultations dedicated to the goAML scheme (presented in an XML-formatted file without assertions, with basic validations from UNODC).
It is worth recalling that the software described is a key part of the United Nation response to threats to the stability and security of financial systems, enabling two-way communication with obliged institutions and cooperating entities.
The content of the communication is not publicly available on the GIIF website, but only after logging into the system provided for obliged institutions.
First consultation
An online meeting with representatives of the GIIF took place on 15 October and was set to clarify the published scheme.
According to the release, obliged institutions can submit their comments until the end of November 2024 to the following email address: [email protected].
We have written more about the GIIF’s intentions to implement the goAML system (as well as the functioning of this programme) HERE.
When will the next consultation take place?
The GIIF has scheduled the next round of consultations for January/February 2025, which will take into account comments submitted by then on the functioning of the goAML system and the embedded assertions and validations.
