DKP Fintech team successful – we obtained a National Payment Institution license for our Client!
Our Fintech team including: attorney Piotr Putyra, attorney Aleksandra Walas, attorney Piotr Glapiński, attorney Alicja Mruczkiewicz, PhD Marcin Waszak, associate Anna Cichoń, junior lawyer Mateusz Bałuta advised our Client – Speedy AG sp. z o.o. through a PSD2 licensing process before the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
The authorization of a national payment institution (KIP) granted to Speedy AG by the PFSA at its meeting on August 23, 2024, covers the following services:
- accepting cash deposits and making cash withdrawals from the payment account, as well as all activities necessary to operate the account,
- performing payment transactions, including the transfer of funds to a payment account with the user’s provider or with another provider using a payment card or similar payment instrument,
- performing payment transactions, including the transfer of funds to a payment account with the user’s provider or with another provider by performing credit transfer services, including standing orders,
- issuing payment instruments,
- acquiring,
- providing payment transaction initiation service.
It is worth noting that Speedy AG will join a very narrow group of entities with KIP status, which is currently held only by 44 entities in Poland.
