Dudkowiak & Putyra at Bitcoin Poland 2026 – Bitcoin in the Polish economy
On 5–6 October 2026, the Poznań Congress Center hosted Bitcoin Poland – the first major Bitcoin-only conference in Poland. Over two days, founders, investors, developers and entrepreneurs from across Central Europe met for talks, panels and workshops on markets, money, security and the future of the network.
Dudkowiak & Putyra was represented by Marcin Waszak, Counsel and Head of the firm’s crypto-assets practice, who joined the panel “Bitcoin in the Polish Economy: Payments, Business and the Challenges of Adoption”.
Bitcoin in the Polish economy

The panel took place on the Profit Stage on the first day of the conference. Hosted by Przemysław Olędzki, it brought together Lech Wilczyński, Jakub Bartoszek, Aldona Żukowska-Carames and Marcin Waszak.
The discussion focused on a practical question: can Bitcoin work in Poland as a means of payment and a business tool, and what still holds its adoption back? Marcin brought the legal perspective to a panel of entrepreneurs and practitioners.
A market still waiting for its rules
The timing gave the debate an edge. The MiCA transitional period ended on 1 July 2026, yet Poland still has no national act designating the authority that would license crypto-asset service providers. Three versions of the Crypto-Assets Market Act have been vetoed by the President, and in September 2026 the Sejm failed to override the latest veto.
For businesses, this means that a CASP licence cannot currently be obtained in Poland. Companies that want to serve Polish clients rely on authorisation in another EU Member State and passporting. For those that simply want to accept bitcoin as payment, the key questions concern AML obligations, tax treatment and the status of the payment provider they work with.
Conversations in Poznań

Bitcoin Poland was also a chance to meet the people behind the Polish Bitcoin market – entrepreneurs, investors and builders. With Poznań being one of our offices, the conference felt like a home game. We would like to thank the organisers and everyone who joined the conversation, both on stage and in the networking areas.
